My Favorite Things: March 2021

Uncategorized

Be like me. Live my life. Read about the things I love this month. Please?

Do you ever have a month where you find so many things you’re enjoying but have noone to share your awesome finds with? This is me in March 2021. I’ve been listening to great podcasts. I’ve been watching great shows. I’ve even been eating great food. So if you’re looking for a few recommendations, check out this quick little list. It might just change your life like it did mine. And no, I am *so* not being dramatic or anything.

Authors Off the Page. This podcast has been my latest obsession. If you’re a romance reader or writer, then this is a good listen for you. Authors Jennifer Peel, Becky Monson, and Julie Coulter Bellon get together to talk love, books, and life stories. The episodes are relatively short (usually less than an hour), full of fascinating writing tips and tricks, and provide great insights into the world of self-publishing. This podcast gets me super jazzed about my work and inspires me to keep pushing for success.

Imposters. I have been having a major TV dry spell lately. Back in the day when I used to work as a film and TV critic, I got my fill of entertainment. These days, it often feels like the last thing I want to do to relax is sit in front of a TV. Enter, Imposters: my newest guilty pleasure show. This dark comedy/drama follows a group of young people who have teamed up in search of the woman who married and scammed all of them. It’s really delicious fun. Catch both seasons on Netflix now.

Swig. If you know even a little bit about me, you know that I have a major soda addiction. With twin toddlers who have been having a little trouble sleeping this month (we’re trying to break their binky habit), Swig Soda has been my best friend. Can I get them to sponsor this post? Would they do that? Anyway, do yourself a favor and order the Big Al but with regular coke instead of diet. It will change your life, I swear.

Bluey. Alright, I take back what I said earlier: I suppose that I do watch a lot of TV lately, but it’s certainly not my usual brand. My kids love Disney Junior, despite my best efforts to keep them from the screen. The only way I get to cook dinner is by turning on the old boob tube, so I might as well pick a show that I like. Thankfully, Bluey is a show sent to parents straight from God. This sweet, short cartoon about a family of Australian Blue Heelers has so much heart and plenty of laughs. I love it so much that I find myself humming the theme song even when my kids aren’t home.

Alright, people, validate my life choices! Let me know in the comments if you share any of my favorite things or if you *gasp* disapprove of any. Also, be sure to tell me if you start watching either of the shows or listening to the podcast. You won’t regret it!! In the meantime, be sure to check out some of my other fun content, like this recent list I made of 5 underrated romance movies.
