Am I alone in feeling like every author secretly fantasizes about what it would be like to have their book turned into a movie? Well, rest assured, people: I have been dream casting Call It Kismet since I first came up with the characters. In case you want some inspiration to better imagine this colorful cast of characters, here’s a quick list of ideas on who I’d love to see in the inevitable HBO Max release.
Millie: Zooey Deschanel
Love, love, love her. She’s got the dark hair, the creamy pale skin (sans Millie’s signature freckles), and the confident, independent spirit that would be perfect for the role. Is she way too old to be playing a 28-year-old? Ok, yes, whatever. But I love her anyway!
Jonas: Tyler Posey
Okay, let’s be real: Tyler Posey is way too young to be playing across from Zooey Deschanel. But this is my book and I want what I want! That hair. That jawline. It’s all Jonas-level swoon-worthy.
Randy: Nicholas Hoult
I have always loved Nicholas Hoult and never thought I could see him playing a villain. . . until I watched The Great. If you haven’t seen it, go watch it now! Hoult has that perfect confident, cocky bad guy vibe.
Caroline: Emily Osment
Girl has total Caroline vibes. Young, beachy, blonde. Can’t you imagine her being your quick-witted best friend?
